John MacGregor – Managing Director
John has extensive experience in public relations, with particular strength in issues and crisis management, government relations, media relations and corporate reputation management.
As the founder of MPR and the former head of two major international public relations consultancies in Australia, John has vast experience across a range of industries.
He has developed and run communications programs, media relations, government relations, and crisis management campaigns for a range of clients in industries as diverse as infrastructure, technology, finance, gaming, property development, health care and medical compensation, aviation, building materials and insurance.
John has established a solid reputation in government, with strong links to all the major political parties in Canberra, Sydney and other state capitals. A former senior press secretary in the NSW Government to both the Environment Minister and Premier, John is also an experienced journalist, having worked for ABC News and SBS in Australia and CNN in Washington D.C.
Caitlin Stevens – Manager
Caitlin Stevens was appointed as a Public Relations Consultant for MacGregor Public Relations and is responsible for managing media, government and community relations campaigns for a range of MPR clients, as well as the operations of the company.
Caitlin joined MPR in 2017 as a fresh graduate. She heads up the MPR communication team responsible for developing media campaigns, media monitoring and analysis, event management and engaging with stakeholders.
Prior to this role, Caitlin gained work experience as a writer at Fairfax Media and interned for a boutique PR agency in Sydney.
Caitlin holds a Bachelor of Arts-Media from Macquarie University.
Renee Simon – Former Manager
Renee Simon was appointed as the Manager of MacGregor Public Relations in 2011 and is responsible for managing media, government and community relations campaigns for a range of MPR clients, as well as the operations of the company.
Renee initially joined MPR as a public relations consultant in January 2009. She heads up the MPR communication team responsible for developing media campaigns, media monitoring and analysis, event management and engaging with stakeholders.
Her experience at MPR includes managing internal communications such as writing articles for a global magazine, issues and crisis management for clients in the health and infrastructure sector and developing a wide range of events from product launches to community showcases.
Prior to this role, Renee worked on secondment to Cubic Transportation Systems during the tender stage of the electronic ticketing system in Sydney, as a freelance journalist for APN News and Media and as a consultant for a number of boutique PR agencies in Queensland.
She is a registered political lobbyist in all major states across Australia and holds a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism and Public Relations) from the University of the Sunshine Coast.
Renee now manages her own public relations agency, Burst Public Relations.
Michelle Newman – Former Senior Consultant
With ten years experience in public relations, Michelle has developed and managed comprehensive communications strategies for a number of blue chip companies, small businesses, industry associations and government agencies.
Michelle works across a range of industries, having run media, government and community relations campaigns in the areas of telecommunications, energy and utilities, construction and engineering, tourism, transport, healthcare, the food industry, and manufacturing.
Michelle specialises in raising the profile of clients through integrated public relations campaigns involving proactive media programs, stakeholder engagement events, research initiatives and the development of communication tools including community newsletters, corporate DVDs, websites and marketing collateral.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts (Organisational Communications and Public Relations) from Charles Sturt University, where she was the recipient of a University Scholarship, the Public Relations Institute of Australia Prize and the Sociology Prize.
Michelle now manages her own public relations agency, Parker Communications.
Tony Park – Specialist Consultant
Tony Park has more than 27 years’ experience in the media, government, issues management and public relations.
He has worked as a newspaper journalist in Sydney and the United Kingdom, served as a press secretary to a NSW Premier and Ministers for Health, Police and Justice, and managed the NSW office of a leading international PR firm.
Tony has provided media training to Government Ministers and senior bureaucrats, CEOs and senior managers of some of Australia’s largest companies, and the Australian and Papua New Guinea defence forces.
Tony is a published author of eight novels set in Africa, ‘Far Horizon’ (2004), ‘Zambezi’ (2005), ‘African Sky’ (2006), ‘Safari’ (2007), ‘Silent Predator’ (2008), ‘Ivory’ (2009), ‘The Delta’ (2010), and ‘African Sky’ (2011). He has also co-written three biographies, ‘Part of the Pride’ (with Kevin Richardson), ‘War Dogs’ (with Shane Bryant), and ‘The Grey Man’ (with John Curtis).
